Good sexual and reproductive health refers to complete physical, mental and social well-being in all matters relating to the reproductive system. It implies that women can have a satisfying and safe sex life, the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so. UNFPA works toward universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, including family planning.

In five local government areas in Gombe State, in the northeast region of the country, UNFPA Nigeria conducted activities with 125 Community Health Influence Promotion and Service (CHIPS) agents to increase utilization and demand for sexual and reproductive health, focusing on family planning.

The Kaduna Sub-office used the District Health Information System (DHIS) to select the locations. As a result, 1,117 women from 6,647 households were reached with reproductive, maternal, neonatal child and adolescent health information and services; that will help them to make their own choices about their sexual and reproductive health as well as reduce and eliminate risks to their sexual health.
