NATIONAL STRATEGIC FRAME WORK FOR THE ELIMINATION OF OBSTETRIC FISTULA IN NIGERIA 2019 - 2023

Obstetric Fistula a major public health problem with an estimated global burden of 2,000,000 cases (Geneva: World Health Organization; 2014) of which Nigeria contributes about 150,000 cases, furthermore, about 12,000 new cases of obstetric fistula occur every year in Nigeria.

At the current pace however, it is obvious that the country would not achieve it's goal of eliminating obstetric fistula within a generation. This revised and costed National Strategic Plan (2019 -2023) provides a road map for intensification of efforts towards realising a fistula-free Nigeria by 2023.
