Dr Mamadou Kante

Dr. Kante has worked at the Ministry of Health in Mali for 15 years where he was District Medical Officer, Regional Health Director, Director of Health Education Services.

Dr. Kante has worked at the Ministry of Health in Mali for 15 years where he was District Medical Officer, Regional Health Director, Director of Health Education Services. Before joining UNFPA, he worked for Plan International in Mali, Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, and Rwanda as Country Director.  He also served as Regional Director for Plan International in West Africa in Dakar.   

Dr. Kante joined UNFPA in 2010 as Resident Representative in Burkina Faso and before this new role, he was UNFPA Representative in Gabon.  

Mr. Mamadou Kante is a medical doctor. He holds a Master's degree in Public Health with a specialty in Maternal and Child Health.   

​​​​​Mamadou is presently in the Nigeria Country Office, based in Abuja.
