The 2025 UNFPA Nigeria Annual Report in Numbers tells a story of steady progress for women, girls and young people across Nigeria. Working with government, donors, United Nations agencies, civil society, academic institutions and implementing partners, UNFPA contributed to stronger systems, better evidence, expanded services and community-led action that translated into tangible gains in health, dignity, protection and rights across development and humanitarian settings.

In 2025, UNFPA support helped expand family planning commodity security, strengthen maternal health and quality-of-care systems, advance obstetric fistula treatment and reintegration, and improve access to inclusive sexual and reproductive health services. The launch and dissemination of the 2024 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey, the National Demographic Dividend Profile and state-level data initiatives also expanded the evidence base for planning, budgeting and accountability.

In humanitarian settings, women, girls, adolescents and young people continued to access lifesaving SRH and GBV services, while community protection mechanisms, localization and partnerships strengthened resilience and response capacity. At the community level, public abandonment of FGM, safe-space programming for adolescent girls, and male engagement initiatives advanced dignity, equality and protection.
Together, these results demonstrate what is possible when partnerships are aligned around shared goals and a commitment to leaving no one behind.
